Background:

Wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 4 (WNT4) belongs to the WNT family of secreted signaling proteins.  The members of this family have been implicated in oncogenesis, as well as developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.  WNT4 is the first signaling molecule shown to influence the sex-determination cascade.  It plays a crucial role in both the control of female development and the prevention of testes formation.  Overexpression of WNT4 may be associated with abnormal proliferation in human breast tissue.  Mutations in WNT4 may result in Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome and SERKAL syndrome.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human WNT4.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
