Background:

 IL-33 is an alarmin cytokine that binds to and signals through the IL1RL1/ST2 receptor which in turn activates NF-kappa-B and MAPK signaling pathways in target cells. In quiescent cells, the full-length IL-33 form is constitutively present in the nucleus, and acts as a chromatin-associated nuclear factor with transcriptional repressor properties. Upon cellular injury or stress, IL-33 is released to induce type 2 immune responses. Full-length IL-33 can be cleaved into smaller forms that are more potent in activity.

Source and Purity:

 Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of mouse IL-33. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
