Background:

NF-kappa-B inhibitor-interacting Ras-like protein 2 (NKIRAS2) belongs to the small GTPase superfamily, Ras family and KappaB-Ras subfamily. In contrast to other members of the Ras family, the KappaB-Ras proteins do not contain the conserved Gly and Gln residues in positions 13 and 65, which are replaced by Ala and Leu residues, respectively, and are therefore similar to the constitutively active forms of oncogenic forms of Ras. NKIRAS2 acts as a potent regulator of NF-kappa-B activity by preventing the degradation of NF-kappa-B inhibitor beta (NFKBIB) by most signals, explaining why NFKBIB is more resistant to degradation. NKIRAS2 may act by blocking phosphorylation of NFKBIB and nuclear localization of p65/RELA subunit. It is unclear whether it acts as a GTPase.

Other Names:

NF-kappa-B inhibitor-interacting Ras-like protein 2, I-kappa-B-interacting Ras-like protein 2, Kappa B-Ras protein 2, KappaB-Ras2, KBRAS2

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human NKIRAS2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
