R2327-1 - LGALS8 (N) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
|
Quantity: 100 ul Application: WB Predicted | Observed MW: 36 | 40 kDa Uniprot ID: O00214 Background: Galectin-8 (LGALS8) is a cytoplasmic protein of the galectin family that contains 2 galectin domains. Galectins are beta-galactoside-binding lectins with conserved carbohydrate recognition domains. The galectins have been implicated in many essential functions including development, differentiation, cell-cell adhesion, cell-matrix interaction, growth regulation, apoptosis, and RNA splicing. LGALS8 exhibits a marked preference for 3'-O-sialylated and 3'-O-sulfated glycans, and is widely expressed in tumoral tissues and seems to be involved in integrin-like cell interactions. LGALS8 has recently been shown to act as a danger receptor in defence against intracellular pathogens. Other Names: Galectin-8, Gal-8, Po66 carbohydrate-binding protein, Po66-CBP, Prostate carcinoma tumor antigen 1, PCTA-1 Source and Purity: Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human LGALS8. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. Storage Buffer and Condition: Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt. Tested Applications: WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*) *: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications. Species Specificity: Human, Mouse Product Data: (A) mouse brain, (B) mouse thymus, (C) human Jurkat, (D) human HeLa; using anti-LGALS8 (N) (R2327-1) at RT for 2 h. |
