Background:

MBD5 belongs to the methyl-CpG-binding domain (MBD) family.  The MBD domain consists of approximately 70 residues and is the minimal region required for a methyl-CpG-binding specifically to methylated DNA.  MBD5 also contains a PWWP domain (Pro-Trp-Trp-Pro motif), which is found in numerous proteins that are involved in cell division, growth and differentiation.  Mutations in this gene cause mental retardation autosomal dominant type 1.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of mouse MBD5.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
