R0710-3 - RANBP2 (C2) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
|
Quantity: 100 ul Application: WB
Predicted | Observed M.W.: 358 kDa Uniprot ID: P49792 Background: RAN is a small GTP-binding protein of the RAS superfamily that is associated with the nuclear membrane and is thought to control a variety of cellular functions through its interactions with other proteins. Ran-binding protein 2 (RANBP2) is a large RAN-binding protein that immunolocalizes to the nuclear pore complex. The protein is a scaffold and mosaic cyclophilin-related nucleoporin implicated in the Ran-GTPase cycle. RANBP2 directly interacts with the E2 enzyme UBC9 and strongly enhances SUMO1 transfer from UBC9 to the SUMO1 target SP100. These findings place sumoylation at the cytoplasmic filaments of the nuclear pore complex and suggest that, for some substrates, modification and nuclear import are linked events. The RANBP2 gene is partially duplicated in a gene cluster that lies in a hot spot for recombination on chromosome 2q [provided by RefSeq]. Other Names: E3 SUMO-protein ligase RanBP2, 358 kDa nucleoporin, Nuclear pore complex protein Nup358, Nucleoporin Nup358, Ran-binding protein 2, RanBP2, p270, NUP358 Source and Purity: Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human RANBP2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. Storage Buffer and Condition: Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt. Species Specificity: Human Tested Applications: WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*) *: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
