Product Introduction:

vPair^TM antibodies represent a pair of fully characterized antibodies that recognize two different regions of a target protein. The product is developed by Abiocode to address whether the signal observed truly represents the protein of interest, an often encountered issue in antibody-based assays. The use of a pair of fully characterized vPair^TM antibodies in the same assay can validate signal specificity since vPair^TM antibodies recognize two independent epitopes of the same protein. Different sets of vPair^TM antibodies are developed at Abiocode to work with specific applications, including antibody arrays, Western blot, IP-Western, ChIP, IHC, and FACS.

Background:

Chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 4 (CXCR4) is the receptor for cell-derived factor-1.  It transduces signals that increase intracellular calcium ion levels.  It also enhances MAPK/MAPK3 activation and reduces cellular cAMP levels.  It is involved in hematopoiesis and in cardiac ventricular septum formation.  CXCR4 also plays a role in vascularization of the gastrointesetinal tract.  Mutations in the gene that codes for CXCR4 have been associated with WHIM (warts, hypogammaglobulinemia, infections and myelokathexis) syndrome.  CXCR4 acts as a co-receptor, along with CD4 protein to support HIV entry into cells.  CXCR4 is also highly expressed in breast cancer cells.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing either the N-terminal region [CXCR4 (N) (R0067-1)] or the C-terminal region [CXCR4 (C) (R0067-2)] of human CXCR4. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
