Product Introduction:

Background:

Histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT) catalyzes the metabolism of histamine.  It is the first enzyme in the metabolic pathway that uses S-adenosyl-L-methionine as the methyl donor.  HNMT is responsible for the production of histamine in the mammalian brain.  It is ubiquitously expressed and the level of HNMT is a critical factor in airway responsiveness to histamine.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing either the N-terminal region [HNMT (N) (R0074-1)] or the C-terminal region [HNMT (C) (R0074-2)] of human HNMT.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
