Product Introduction:

vPair^TM antibodies represent a pair of fully characterized antibodies that recognize two different regions of a target protein. The product is developed by Abiocode to address whether the signal observed truly represents the protein of interest, an often encountered issue in antibody-based assays. The use of a pair of fully characterized vPair^TM antibodies in the same assay can validate signal specificity since vPair^TM antibodies recognize two independent epitopes of the same protein. Background:

Neuronal PAS domain-containing protein 4 (NPAS4) is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix-PER (MIM 602260)-ARNT (MIM 126110)-SIM (bHLH-PAS) class of transcriptional regulators, which are involved in a wide range of physiologic and developmental events. NPAS4 acts as a transcriptional activator in the presence of ARNT. NPAS4 can also activate the CME (CNS midline enhancer) element and the expression of the drebrin gene.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with GST-fusion proteins containing the either the N-terminal [NPAS4 (N) (R1980-1)] or the C-terminal [NPAS4 (C2) (R1980-3)] region of mouse NPAS4.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
