R0499-3 - AFP (C) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
|
Quantity: 100 ul Application: WB
Predicted I Observed M.W.: 69 kDa Uniprot ID: P02771
Background:
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal life. AFP expression in adults is often associated with hepatoma or teratoma. However, hereditary persistance of AFP may also be found in individuals with no obvious pathology. AFP is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the AFP and albumin genes are present in tandem in the same transcriptional orientation on chromosome 4. AFP is found in monomeric as well as dimeric and trimeric forms, and binds copper, nickel, fatty acids and bilirubin. The level of AFP in amniotic fluid is used to measure renal loss of protein to screen for spina bifida and anencephaly [provided by RefSeq].
Other Names:
Alpha-fetoprotein, Alpha-1-fetoprotein, Alpha-fetoglobulin, HPAFP, FETA
Source and Purity:
Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing C-terminal region of human AFP. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
Storage Buffer and Condition:
Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
Species Specificity:
Human, Mouse
Tested Applications:
WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)
*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
