Background:

Trace amine receptor 4 (TAAR4) is a multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. TAAR4 is an olfactory receptor specific for 2-phenylethylamine, a trace amine present at high concentration in the urine of carnivore species which plays a key role in fear and avoidance responses. 2-phenylethylamine acts as a kairomone in the chemical detection of carnivore odor and triggers fear in mice. TAAR4 is probably mediated by the G(s)-class of G-proteins which activate adenylate cyclase.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing N-terminal region of mouse TAAR4. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
