Product Introduction:

vPair^TM antibodies represent a pair of fully characterized antibodies that recognize two different regions of a target protein. Background:

Transmembrane protease serine 2 (TMPRSS2) belongs to the serine protease family. It contains a type II transmembrane domain, a receptor class A domain, a scavenger receptor cysteine-rich domain and a protease domain. Serine proteases are known to be involved in many physiological and pathological processes. It was demonstrated that TMPRSS2 is up-regulated by androgenic hormones in prostate cancer cells and down-regulated in androgen-independent prostate cancer tissue. The protease domain of this protein is thought to be cleaved and secreted into cell media after autocleavage [provided by RefSeq].

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with GST-fusion proteins containing either the N-terminal [TMPRSS2 (N) (R2849-1)] or the C-terminal [TMPRSS2 (C) (R2949-2)] region of human TMPRSS2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
