Background:

Protein unc-13 homolog B (UNC13B) is expressed in the kidney cortical epithelial cells and is upregulated by hyperglycemia. UNC13B shares a high level of similarity to the rat homolog, and contains 3 C2 domains and a diacylglycerol-binding C1 domain. Hyperglycemia increases the levels of diacylglycerol, which has been shown to induce apoptosis in cells transfected with UNC13B and thus contribute to the renal cell complications of hyperglycemia. Studies in other species also indicate a role for UNC13B in the priming step of synaptic vesicle exocytosis [provided by RefSeq].

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing N-terminal region of human UNC13B. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
