Background:

Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) may mediate the control of various cellular processes by insulin. When phosphorylated by the insulin receptor, IRS1 binds specifically to various cellular proteins containing SH2 domains such as phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase p85 subunit or GRB2. IRS1 activates phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase when bound to the regulatory p85 subunit. IRS1 may be involved in non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human IRS1. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
