Background:

Transcription factor E2-alpha (E2A) is also known as Transcription factor 3 (TCF3), which is a transcriptional regulator involved in the initiation of neuronal differentiation. Heterodimers between E2A and tissue-specific basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins play major roles in determining tissue-specific cell fate during embryogenesis, like muscle or early B-cell differentiation. Dimers bind DNA on E-box motifs: 5'-CANNTG-3'. E2A binds to the kappa-E2 site in the kappa immunoglobulin gene enhancer. It also binds to IEB1 and IEB2, which are short DNA sequences in the insulin gene transcription control region.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing C-terminal region of human E2A. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
