Background:

Protein arginine N-methyltransferase 2 (PRMT2) is a protein arginine methyltransferase that methylates the guanidino nitrogens of arginyl residues in proteins such as STAT3, FBL, histone H4. PRMT2 acts as a transcriptional coactivator of multiple nuclear hormone receptors, including AR, ER, PGR, PPARG and RARA. PRMT2 may inhibit NF-kappa-B-mediated transcription and promote apoptosis. PRMT2 can also repress E2F1 transcriptional activity in a RB1-dependent manner. PRMT2 may be involved in growth regulation.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human PRMT2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
