Background:

Adiponectin (ADIPOQ) is a protein hormone that modulates a number of metabolic processes, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. ADIPOQ is exclusively secreted from adipose tissue into the bloodstream and is very abundant in plasma. Levels of the hormone are inversely correlated with body fat percentage in adults. ADIPOQ plays a role in the suppression of the metabolic derangements that may result in type 2 diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and an independent risk factor for metabolic syndrome.

Other Names:

ACDC, ACRP30, APM1, GBP28, Adiponectin, 30 kDa adipocyte complement-related protein, Adipocyte complement-related 30 kDa protein, Adipocyte, C1q and collagen domain-containing protein, Adipose most abundant gene transcript 1 protein, apM-1, Gelatin-binding protein

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the middle region of human ADIPOQ. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:5,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
