Background:

E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase XIAP belongs to the IAP family and is a multi-functional protein which regulates not only caspases and apoptosis, but also modulates inflammatory signaling and immunity, copper homeostasis, mitogenic kinase signaling, cell proliferation, as well as cell invasion and metastasis. XIAP acts as a direct caspase inhibitor and directly binds to the active site pocket of CASP3 and CASP7 and obstructs substrate entry. XIAP inactivates CASP9 by keeping it in a monomeric, inactive state. XIAP acts as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase regulating NF-kappa-B signaling and the target proteins for its E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase activity include: RIPK1, CASP3, CASP7, CASP8, CASP9, MAP3K2/MEKK2, DIABLO/SMAC, AIFM1, CCS and BIRC5/survivin.

Other Names:

E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase XIAP, Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 4, IAP-like protein, ILP, Hilp, Inhibitor of apoptosis protein 3, IAP-3, hIAP-3, hIAP3, X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein, X-linked IAP, API3, BIRC4, IAP3

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human XIAP. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:500-1:2,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
