Background:

MED12 is a component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Mediator functions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is recruited to promoters by direct interactions with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional preinitiation complex with RNA polymerase II and the general transcription factors. MED12 may specifically regulate transcription of targets of the Wnt signaling pathway and SHH signaling pathway.

Other Names:

Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 12, Activator-recruited cofactor 240 kDa component, ARC240, CAG repeat protein 45, Mediator complex subunit 12, OPA-containing protein, Thyroid hormone receptor-associated protein complex 230 kDa component, Trap230, Trinucleotide repeat-containing gene 11 protein, ARC240, CAGH45, HOPA, KIAA0192, TNRC11, TRAP230

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human MED12. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:500-1:2,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
