Background:

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is a member of the keratin family.  Keratins are intermediate filament proteins in charge of maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells.  They are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins.  KRT19 plays a role in the organization of myofibers.  It works with KRT8, linking the contractile apparatus to dystrophin at the costameres of striated muscle.

Other Names:

CK19, CK-19, K19, K1CS, MGC15366, Cytokeratin-19

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human KRT19.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
