R0273-1 - AGO1 (N1) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
|
Quantity: 100 ul Application: WB Predicted M.W.: 97 kDa Uniprot ID: Q9UL18 Background: Argonaute1 (AGO1) is also known as Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C 1 (EIF2C1), which is a member of the Argonaute family of proteins that play a role in RNA interference. AGO1 is highly basic, and contains a PAZ domain and a PIWI domain. It may interact with dicer1 and play a role in short-interfering-RNA-mediated gene silencing. AGO1 binds to short RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs) or short interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and represses the translation of mRNAs complementary to them. AGO1 lacks endonuclease activity and does not appear to cleave target mRNAs. AGO1 is also required for transcriptional gene silencing (TGS) of promoter regions which are complementary to bound short antigene RNAs Other Names: Protein argonaute-1, Argonaute1, hAgo1, Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C 1, eIF-2C 1, eIF2C 1, Putative RNA-binding protein Q99 Source and Purity: Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human AGO1. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. Storage Buffer and Condition: Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt. Species Specificity: Human Tested Applications: WB: 1:1,000-1:5,000 (detect endogenous protein*) *: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
