Background:

HAKAI is also known as Casitas B-lineage lymphoma-transforming sequence-like protein 1 (CBLL1), which is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase for the E-cadherin (CDH1) complex and mediates its ubiquitination, endocytosis, and degradation in the lysosomes. CDH1 is endocytosed as a consequence of tyrosine phosphorylation and ubiquitination. HAKAI interacts with tyrosine-phosphorylated CDH1 and mediates this process. HAKAI contains a RING-finger domain and is also thought to have a role in the control of cell proliferation.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human HAKAI. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
