Background:

Interleukin 12B (IL12B) is a cytokine that acts on T and natural killer cells and has a multitude of biological activities.  It is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of the 40 kD cytokine receptor like subunit and a 35 kD subunit encoded by IL12A.  IL12B is expressed by activated macrophages that serve as an essential inducer of Th1 cells.  It is important in mediating long term protection against intracellular pathogens.  Overexpression of IL12B has been implicated with multiple sclerosis.

Source and Purity:

Mouse monoclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human IL12B. Antibodies were purified by Caprylic Acid- Ammonium Sulfate precipitation. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 40% Glycerol, 0.02% Thimerosal. Store at -20 °C. Stable for at least 6 months from date of receipt.
