Background:

Keratin 18 (KRT18) is a type I intermediate filament chain that partners with keratin 8.  These two keratins are the most common of the family and are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues throughout the body.  When phosphorylated, KRT18 plays a role in filament reorganization.  Mutations in KRT18 have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis.

Source and Purity:

Mouse monoclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the middle region of human KRT18. Antibodies were purified by Caprylic Acid- Ammonium Sulfate precipitation. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 40% Glycerol, 0.02% Thimerosal. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
