Background:

C-X-C chemokine receptor type 3 (CXCR3) is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. CXCR3 is a receptor for CXCL9, CXCL10 and CXCL11 and mediates the proliferation of human mesangial cells (HMC). Isoform 2 is a receptor for CXCL4 and also mediates the inhibitory activities of CXCL9, CXCL10 and CXCL11 on the growth of human microvascular endothelial cells (HMVEC). Binding of CXCL4 or CXCL10 to CXCR3 leads to activation of the p38MAPK pathway and contributes to the inhibition of angiogenesis. Overexpression of CXCR3 in renal cancer cells down-regulates the expression of the anti-apoptotic protein HMOX1 and promotes apoptosis.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the middle region of human CXCR3. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
