Background:

Hemochromatosis type 2 (juvenile) (HJV) plays a role in iron metabolism.  It is a member of the repulsive guidance molecule family.  It may interact with hepcidin.  Defects in HJV lead to juvenile hemochromatosis, an early-onset autosomal recessive disorder.  This disease usually manifests itself before the age of 30 resulting in hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism, hepatic fibrosis or cirrhosis and cardiomyopathy due to the severe iron overload within the body.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human HJV. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
