Background:

Tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 6 (PTPN6) is also known as Protein-tyrosine phosphatase 1C (PTP1C) or SHP-1, which belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, non-receptor class 2 subfamily. PTPN6 contains one tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain and two SH2 domains. PTPN6 modulates signaling by tyrosine phosphorylated cell surface receptors such as KIT and the EGF receptor/EGFR, and plays a key role in hematopoiesis. The SH2 regions of PTPN6 may interact with other cellular components to modulate its own phosphatase activity against interacting substrates.

Other Names:

Tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 6, Hematopoietic cell protein-tyrosine phosphatase,
Protein-tyrosine phosphatase 1C, PTP-1C, Protein-tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1, SH-PTP1, HCP, PTP1C

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human PTPN6. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:500-1:2,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
