Background:

Proline-rich AKT1 substrate 1 (AKT1S1) is a subunit of mTORC1, which regulates cell growth and survival in response to nutrient and hormonal signals. mTORC1 is activated in response to growth factors or amino acids. Within mTORC1, AKT1S1 negatively regulates mTOR activity in a manner that is dependent on its phosphorylation state and binding to 14-3-3 proteins. AKT1S1 inhibits RHEB-GTP-dependent mTORC1 activation. AKT1S1 is a substrate for AKT1 phosphorylation, but can also be activated by AKT1-independent mechanisms. AKT1S1 may also play a role in nerve growth factor-mediated neuroprotection.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human AKT1S1. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
