Background:

Myeloid differentiation primary response protein MyD88 is an adapter protein involved in the Toll-like receptor and IL-1 receptor signaling pathway in the innate immune response. MYD88 acts via IRAK1, IRAK2, IRF7 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. MYD88 has been shown to increase IL-8 transcription, and activate IRF1 resulting in its rapid migration into the nucleus to mediate induction of IFN-beta, NOS2/INOS and IL12A genes. MYD88 is also involved in IL-18-mediated signaling pathway. Defects in MYD88 are the cause of MYD88 deficiency (MYD88D), also known as recurrent pyogenic bacterial infections due to MYD88 deficiency.

Other Names:

Myeloid differentiation primary response protein MyD88

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human MYD88. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
