Background:

Polycomb group RING finger protein 2 (PCGF2) is a nuclear protein containing a RING-type zinc finger. PCGF2 binds specifically to the DNA sequence 5'-GACTNGACT-3' and acts as a transcriptional repressor. PCGF2 has tumor suppressor activity and may play a role in control of cell proliferation and/or neural cell development. PCGF2 is a component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, a complex required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones.

Other Names:

Polycomb group RING finger protein 2, DNA-binding protein Mel-18, RING finger protein 110, Zinc finger protein 144, MEL18, RNF110, ZNF144

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human PCGF2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
