R2673-2 - E2F8 (C) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
|
Quantity: 100 ul Application: WB Predicted I Observed M.W.: 94 I 117, 82 kDa Uniprot ID: A0AVK6 Background: E2F8 participates to various processes such as angiogenesis and polyploidization of specialized cells. E2F8 mainly acts as a transcription repressor that binds DNA independently of DP proteins. E2F8 directly represses transcription of classical E2F transcription factors such as E2F1: component of a feedback loop in S phase by repressing the expression of E2F1, thereby preventing p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis. E2F8 plays a key role in polyploidization of cells in placenta and liver by regulating the endocycle, probably by repressing genes promoting cytokinesis and antagonizing action of classical E2F proteins (E2F1, E2F2 and/or E2F3). E2F8 is required for placental development by promoting polyploidization of trophoblast giant cells. E2F8 acts as a promoter of sprouting angiogenesis, possibly by acting as a transcription activator: associates with HIF1A, recognizes and binds the VEGFA promoter, which is different from canonical E2 recognition site, and activates expression of the VEGFA gene. Other Names: FLJ23311 Source and Purity: Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human E2F8. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. Storage Buffer and Condition: Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt. Species Specificity: Human Tested Applications: WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*) *: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications. Product Data: (B) human Jurkat, using Ab anti-E2F8 (C) (R2673-2) at RT for 2 h. This Ab recognizes the 117 kD full length and the 82 kD truncated E2F8 [Maiti B. et al., JBC (2005) 280:18211-20].
