Product Introduction:

vPair^TM antibodies represent a pair of fully characterized antibodies that recognize two different regions of a target protein. The product is developed by Abiocode to address whether the signal observed truly represents the protein of interest, an often encountered issue in antibody-based assays. The use of a pair of fully characterized vPair^TM antibodies in the same assay can validate signal specificity since vPair^TM antibodies recognize two independent epitopes of the same protein. Different sets of vPair^TM antibodies are developed at Abiocode to work with specific applications, including antibody arrays, Western blot, IP-Western, ChIP, IHC, and FACS.

Background:

POU5F1, POU domain class 5 transcription factor 1, plays a role in embryonic development, especially during early embryogenesis, and it is necessary for embryonic stem cell pluripotency. POU5F1 binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3'). POU5F1 forms a trimeric complex with SOX2 on DNA and controls the expression of a number of genes involved in embryonic development such as YES1, FGF4, UTF1 and ZFP206. POUF1 is highly expressed in undifferentiated embryonic stem cells and expression decreases gradually after embryoid body (EB) formation.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing either the N-terminal [POU5F1 (N2) (R2697-2)] or the C-terminal [POU5F1 (C1) (R2697-3)] region of human POU5F1. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.
