Background:

Zinc finger DHHC domain-containing protein 5 (ZDHHC5) is a multi-pass cell membrane protein that belongs to the DHHC palmitoyltransferase family, ERF2/ZDHHC9 subfamily. ZDHHC5 contains 1 DHHC-type zinc finger. ZDHHC5 is a palmitoyl acyltransferase for the G-protein coupled receptor SSTR5, and it Also palmitoylates FLOT2. The DHHC domain is required for its palmitoyltransferase activity.
