Background:

Solute carrier family 40 (iron-regulated transporter), member 1 (FPN1) is a multi-pass membrane protein that may play a role in the export of iron from duodenal epithelial cells.  It may also be involved in the transfer of iron between maternal and fetal circulation.  FPN1 mediates iron efflux in the presence of a ferroxidase (hephaestin and/or ceruloplasmin).  Defects in FPN1 are a cause of hemochromatosis type 4.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the middle region of mouse FPN1.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
