R1950-2 - AIFM1 (C) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
|
Quantity: 100 ul Application: WB Predicted I Observed M.W.: 67 kDa Uniprot ID: O95831 Background: Apoptosis-inducing factor 1, mitochondrial (AIFM1) belongs to the FAD-dependent oxidoreductase family. AIFM1 is a probable oxidoreductase that has a dual role in controlling cellular life and death; during apoptosis, it is translocated from the mitochondria to the nucleus to function as a proapoptotic factor in a caspase-independent pathway, while in normal mitochondria, it functions as an antiapoptotic factor via its oxidoreductase activity. AIFM1 interacts with EIF3G, and thereby inhibits the EIF3 machinery and protein synthesis, and activates casapse-7 to amplify apoptosis. AIFM1 also plays a critical role in caspase-independent, pyknotic cell death in hydrogen peroxide-exposed cells. AIFM1 binds to DNA in a sequence-independent manner. Other Names: Apoptosis-inducing factor 1, mitochondrial, Programmed cell death protein 8, AIF, PDCD8 Source and Purity: Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human AIFM1. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. Storage Buffer and Condition: Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt. Species Specificity: Human Tested Applications: WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*) *: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications. Product Data: Fig 1. Western blot of total cell extracts fromhuman HeLa; using anti- AIFM1 (C) (R1950-2) at RT for 2 h. |
