Background:

Splicing factor, proline- and glutamine-rich (SFPQ) is a DNA- and RNA binding protein, involved in several nuclear processes. SFPQ is an essential pre-mRNA splicing factor required early in spliceosome formation and for splicing catalytic step II, probably as a heteromer with NONO. Additionally, SFPQ binds to pre-mRNA in spliceosome C complex, and specifically binds to intronic polypyrimidine tracts. SFPQ is also involved in regulation of signal-induced alternative splicing.

Other Names:

Splicing factor, proline- and glutamine-rich, 100 kDa DNA-pairing protein, hPOMp100, DNA-binding p52/p100 complex, 100 kDa subunit, Polypyrimidine tract-binding protein-associated-splicing factor, PSF, PTB-associated-splicing factor

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human SFPQ. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
