Background:

Transcription activator BRG1 (SMARCA4) belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family and is a transcriptional coactivator cooperating with nuclear hormone receptors to potentiate transcriptional activation. SMARCA4 is a component of the CREST-BRG1 complex, a multiprotein complex that regulates promoter activation by orchestrating a calcium-dependent release of a repressor complex and a recruitment of an activator complex. In resting neurons, transcription of the c-FOS promoter is inhibited by BRG1-dependent recruitment of a phospho-RB1-HDAC repressor complex.

Other Names:

Transcription activator BRG1, ATP-dependent helicase SMARCA4, BRG1-associated factor 190A, BAF190A, Mitotic growth and transcription activator, Protein BRG-1, Protein brahma homolog 1,SNF2-beta, SWI/SNF-related matrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily A member 4, BAF190A, BRG1, SNF2B, SNF2L4

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human SMARCA4. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
