Background:

CASP8 and FADD-like apoptosis regulator (CFLAR) is a regulator of apoptosis and is structurally similar to caspase-8.  However, CFLAR lacks caspase activity and appears to be cleaved into two peptides by caspase-8.  A proteolytic fragment (p43) is likely retained in the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) thereby blocking further recruitment and processing of caspase-8 at the complex. CFLAR may function as a crucial link between cell survival and cell death pathways in mammalian cells.  CFLAR acts as an inhibitor of TNFRSF6 mediated apoptosis.  Full length and shorter isoforms have been shown either to induce apoptosis or to reduce TNFRSF-triggered apoptosis.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human CFLAR. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
