Background:

Polycomb group (PcG) of proteins form the multiprotein complexes that are important for the transcription repression of various genes involved in development and cell proliferation. RING finger protein 2 (RNF2) is one of the PcG proteins. It has been shown to interact with, and suppress the activity of, transcription factor CP2 (TFCP2/CP2). Studies of mouse RNF2 suggested the involvement of RNF2 in the specification of anterior-posterior axis, as well as in cell proliferation in early development. RNF2 was also found to interact with huntingtin interacting protein 2 (HIP2), an ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, and possess ubiquitin ligase activity.

Other Names:

BAP-1, BAP1, DING, HIPI3, RING1B, RING2, E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RING2, Huntingtin-interacting protein 2-interacting protein 3, HIP2-interacting protein 3, Protein DinG, RING finger protein 1B, RING finger protein 2, RING finger protein BAP-1

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human RNF2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:3,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.
