Background:

SGT1 (Salicylic acid glucosyltransferase 1) is a glycosyltransferase that glucosylates benzoic acid and derivatives. Substrate preference is benzoic acid > salicylic acid (SA) > 3-hydroxybenzoic acid > 4-hydroxybenzoic acid. SGT1 catalyzes the formation of both SA 2-O-beta-D-glucoside (SAG) and SA glucose ester (SGE), and has high affinity for the tryptophan precursor anthranilate. SGT1 catalyzes the formation of anthranilate glucose ester and is the major source of this activity in the plant.

Other Names:

UDP-glycosyltransferase 74F2, UGT74F2, AtSGT1, GT, SAGT1, At2g43820

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing C-terminal region of arabidopsis thaliana SGT1 (At2g43820). Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Arabidopsis

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:500-1:2,000 (detect endogenous protein*)

*: The apparent protein size on WB may be different from the calculated M.W. due to modifications.

extracts from wild type arabidopsis leaves untreated (Unt) or
treated with 1mM salicylic acid (SA) for 20hr or 48hr as indicated,
using anti-SGT1 (C) (R3585-1) at RT for 2 h. SGT1 is known to
be induced by SA treatment (Song, JT, 2006, Mol Cells, 22:233-238).
