Background:

Cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL) and natural killer (NK) cells share the remarkable ability to recognize, bind, and lyse specific target cells. They are thought to protect their host by lysing cells bearing on their surface 'nonself' antigens, usually peptides or proteins resulting from infection by intracellular pathogens. Granzyme B (GZMB) is crucial for the rapid induction of target cell apoptosis by CTL in cell-mediated immune response. Granzyme B cleaves after Asp residue and it seems to be linked to an activation cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) responsible for apoptosis execution by cleaving caspase-3, -7, -9 and 10 to give rise to active enzymes.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the middle region of mouse Granzyme B. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
