Background:

DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase-like protein 2 (DNMT2) is also known as tRNA (cytosine(38)-C(5))-methyltransferase (TRDMT1), which belongs to the C5-methyltransferase family. DNMTs is  responsible for the methylation of aspartic acid transfer RNA, specifically at the cytosine-38 residue in the anticodon loop. This enzyme also possesses residual DNA-(cytosine-C5) methyltransferase activity. While similar in sequence and structure to DNA cytosine methyltransferases, DNMT2 is distinct and highly conserved in its function.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the middle region of human DNMT2. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
