Background:

SMAD2 is a transcriptional modulator activated by TGF-beta and activin type 1 receptor kinase.  SMAD2 is a receptor-regulated SMAD (R-SMAD). SMAD2 is phosphorylated by the activated receptor kinase upon ligand stimulation, and forms a complex with other SMADs.  The SMAD complex then translocates into the nucleus to regulate transcription.  SMAD2 may act as a tumor suppressor in colorectal carcinoma.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human SMADs. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
