Background:

Melanocortin receptor 4 (MC4R) is a multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.  MC4R is a receptor specific to the heptapeptide core common to adrenocorticotropic hormone and alpha-, beta-, and gamma-MSH. This receptor is mediated by G proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. Defects in MC4R are a cause of obesity.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human MC4R. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
