Background:

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily.  It is a receptor for EGF along with other members of the EGF family.  Binding of the receptor to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphrylation and leads to cell proliferation.  Mutations in EGFR are associated with lung cancer.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human EGFR.  Antibodies were purified by Caprylic Acid- Ammonium Sulfate precipitation. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 40% Glycerol, 0.02% Thimerosal. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
