Background:

PIASx is a member of the PIAS [protein inhibitor of activated STAT (signal transducer and activator of transcription)] family of transcriptional modulators.  PIASx functions as an E3 small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) ligase. It stabilizes the interaction between UBE2I and the substrate, and functions as a SUMO-tethering factor.  PIASx plays an important role in transcriptional regulation of numerous cellular pathways, including the STAT pathway and the p53 pathway.

Other Names:

MGC102682, MIZ1, PIASX, PIAS2, PIASX-BETA, SIZ2, ZMIZ4, miz

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the C-terminal region of human PIASxa. Antibodies were purified by Caprylic Acid- Ammonium Sulfate precipitation.
